Unfortunately one of the narex chisels has been mangled - if you do this, please notify @woodtechs so they are aware
@Giles - is there any chance you (or someone else with experience) could regrind it? Would be keen to shadow when it happens.

Sigh.
If you’re doing rough work, use the rough chisels.
Sometimes I think we should hide these in a drawer…
A locked one! This is unacceptable
That is not even rough work! that is using a chisel as a scredriver, or a concrete breaker!!!
unbelievable!
Yes it looks like a repeated action too. Several different dents which means that after mashing it once the person continued and mashed it again and again. Astonishing.
Tool control for these has been mentioned before. I think also would be good to remind everyone to keep an eye out and to feel empowered to intervene if they see something that doesn’t look right. I do mention this in inductions but maybe we can do more…?
Maybe a laminate card attached to the wall with some do’s and don’ts could help?

If someone used a chisel like this they’re not going to read a card on the wall.
I agree, although I can see an argument for putting the fine chisels in a box or drawer and leaving the rough chisels more prominently on display to help prevent instances like this. Even a non tool controlled one feels like it could help and a laminated card doesn’t seem like it’d do any harm.
That said I still can’t really understand the scenario where anyone picks up a chisel and thinks it’s acceptable to use it in a way that damages it like that.
