Are there plans to do one for 2024?
Maker fair 2024?
I can also help, do we do calls for submissions that we curate or people just book stall’s?
May 2024 sounds far away but it’s tight from an organising perspective
Do we have a venue booked already?
2024 has an emfcamp as well
Kind-of related-ish:
The company wasn’t that interesting to its investors anymore. It was failing as a business but not as a mission. Should it be a non-profit or something like that? Some of our best successes for instance are in education.
We’ve succeeded in just getting the transition to happen and getting Community set up
The immediate plan is to announce a new membership model next week at Make.co, where hobbyists and craft-lovers can pay a monthly or annual fee to become patrons of Make Community.
Hi @Dorine
Just met with the Dulwich Festival folks, we will be doing this again this year and definitely need your help, @Gawain has also volunteered to help so hopefully the 2 of you can take the charge, this will be our 3rd year so hopefully organising won’t be too onerous.
Thanks!
Andy
Ok cool. Can you connect me with the Dulwich people, have we been assigned a space yet? Also who dealt with this role in the previous 3 years, are they still with us? Do we have any documentation in terms of process, calls for submissions, previous volunteers list including their dbs details etc.
I need access to details before I/we can plan and manage expectations
Hi Dorine,
Yes happy to connect you - please DM me your email and I can do that.
We are going to use our space here on the 11/12 May
Dermot used to look after it but he has stepped back.
Good questions re DBS etc - no idea.

Do we take part in other regular events each year?
I think this and EMF (every 2 years) is it?!
Read through the contents here for what we have done in the past:

I don’t think DBS is an issue, it is essentially similar to an Open Evening, with a lot more demos and makers…
