Make The Space – Sunday 3rd January 2015

Christmas is done, New Years will be finished, and hang overs all but a miserable memory, so start off those new years resolutions with a bit of community spirit!

The big push before Christmas has meant huge amounts of work completed on the wall, it’s nearly done, just the last push! Also the complicated brainy bit of figuring out the lining templates is done, so the battens can shoot up.

Let’s get this place lined in the next couple weeks so we can get the floor in and start using our amazing new workshop!

All welcome, new and old. Make The Space is a great time to come and get to know people, and lend a hand to making the space great!

Work will be going on all day, some start to turn up around 11:00 and others after lunch, with work going on well into the evening, please RSVP below…

@everyone

Does anyone know what materials we need?

Let’s decide a start time and try to stick with it and all aim to be there.

If 11 works let’s keep that.

Yes, it’s okay for members to turn up later if they really can’t make it for the start, but they need to say they’re coming so we can plan.

Otherwise it can be disruptive for those already working, plus people who turn up later inevitably seem to end up standing around with hands in pockets, not knowing what to do. Which is a waste of time.

That’s my ha’penny… For when I’m ‘foreing’

EDIT: though people work very late nowadays: so maybe organise shifts? I’m happy to run 11 to 6 for example.

I’ve got the lintels

@jan_evetts I need to glue something - so will pop down, but not for long. Not sure my fob opens the shutter. What time were you expecting to arrive?
Tom

I expect to be there morning-ish. I got a couple more bags of sand.

@tom_tibbits we are doing construction tomorrow so please be aware that this will be the priority, would be great if you could help out.

Will be up for tomorrow morning, see you at 11.

Good looks like we’ve got an 11 AM team! We can get cracking on that wall. A load of block cutting to do…

I would like to be there, but unfortunately won’t be able.

I’m coming down. Family priority though so not expecting to be there till noon.

or not … emergency plumbing required here. Sorry.

Some pics from today, I left 3.30pm ish so that wall could be nearer the ceiling now…

Barry giving a cheesy smile for the freshly lintelled doorway:)
