There’s space making to be done on Sunday this week From 11AM.
I can’t make it unfortunately due to work and family commitments. But we really can’t afford to lose time on the build, which is slipping behind right now.
Can someone please below volunteer to be main contact point and / or foreman for the day. If that person isn’t @dermot, I will furnish you with my contact details for the making of non-trivial construction making decisions.
The left hand sink stand in the bog is currently bare wood, the tin of B&Q varnish in the sink is almost empty, it does not look like enough to me.
Is there more varnish somewhere in the clutter, I had a five minute search, or do we need to get some, in which case does it need to be a specific type?
We have the lining down to a fine art now, so assuming the battons can go in, this should only take an evening more of work to break the back.
Any other efforts tomorrow should go towards rationalisation of the snug and general space making in the main space. Much of the content of the space can be moved under the completes lining, leaving clear space for wall materials to arrive in hopefully short measure.
After the usual painful slow start finding stuff, moving stuff, getting more stainless screws etc etc… the last batons are going up. Confidence is high for finishing the lining tonight, come down and be part of the grand sealing in!
At this point the lining needs just a single ‘peak’ of overlap to maximise the coverage of each sheet. If we could also prioritise doing the sheets up a height, that would be best. If we run out of sheet, this would minimise the annoyingness.
After much talking about battaning and the right way of doing it , I have come to the conclusion that the most important part is getting the right plugs and screws , it is the only thing that makes any real difference.
