Make The Space - Sunday 11th October

Hello everyone.

Lots got done last week at Make The Space - there’s now a north wall in the washroom, and there’s even a sink hung on it! This could do with a little finishing, and there’s a bit of extra decorating to do now in the washroom which would make a nice sunday job for someone.

This week, we’re going to be primarily focussing on getting a form for the new kitchen worktop started, plenty of different skills and lots of careful thinking needed. So we can get a good idea of numbers this weekend - could you please sign up below? We’d really like a good turn out this week, so whether you’re old, new, or just want to check us out, please come down, pick up a tool and help us make-the-space.

Finally, if none of the above sound like fun, there are a whole bunch of other jobs that need to get done:

  • Plumbing
    • Finish off Phase 2 Sink
    • Plumbing for Hot Water
  • Washrooming
  • Replace floor void (recut from the right material)
  • finish adhesive floor tiles
  • Splashback tiling around sink(s).
  • Hang mirror
  • Kitchen
  • Get going on a former for the kitchen worktop
  • fix the splash back Ply in place
  • Sitting Area
  • Make a start on making some side / coffee tables.
  • North wall of the washroom
    • fitting handles and grab bars.
  • Finish up north wall of the washroom.
  • Painting
  • we can ALWAYS find something that needs a lick of paint / oil.
  • ADMIN

If you can make it, please let us know what time you can give below, else we would like people to be at the space by 11AM in order for us to do a proper safety briefing and allocate jobs.

How’d it go? Did space get maked?

Productive day. Good turn out, some tricky stuff tackled! Almost got us up to 3 of our 4 sinks/basins operational!

Yep, was a great day (although, the space is a little messier now - sorry!) we got a lot done.

Bathroom Sink no2, was plumbed in in a messy way, then once everyone had gone home, plumbed in yet again in a much neater way (there’s a few leaks, so it’s not currently connected). Phase 2 sink now both phases 2 and sinks.
A lot of work done on the Kitchen, Kitchen Sink no1, now in a worktop, soon to be plumbed in. Some work done on the north wall for Data and Sockets etc.
Door Mat drainage now no longer sponsored by door-mat and instead very neatly plumbed away in a nice low-profile solution ready for lining fun.
