Make the Space night Friday 18th March?

Anyone down tonight?

We can get the cladding done around ‘Dermot’s Doorway of Doom’ or whatever it’s called this week…

Get some door linings made, beading fitted for the glass, doors hung.

Oh and some wiring still to do by these doors?

Then a quick tea break…

Did the 22mm SDS bit turn up yet, anyone know?

Not sure what’s already done out of above as not been down for 2 whole days, do anything could have happened…

There’s work and welcome for all comers.

And maybe a beer at the end of the tunnel (or arch)

I’ll try and make it down tonight, probably not until 8 tho.

The 22mm SDS bit showed up. I believe it is still in the SDS drill in the dusty workshop.

I am going to drop off the e-stops and key switches, hopefully the key switch can be modified as it doesn’t let you take the key out in one position and needs to be modified to allow that.

Great!

@andrew_d what got done, and needs getting done? I believe you were the last one out yesterday…

Some lighting and wiring work got done along with some more tidying. I think further work on the wall is dependent on the wiring being finished. However, I think only @Courty and @joeatkin2 know what is going on with the wiring.

Okay, so that would be good for them to either get done or communicate what’s needed.

Pete and I are both experienced in running cables.

I assume the wall can then be insulated a plasterboard tacked on? Would need to know the detailing at the top of the wall for that.

Note:

I misunderstood the design intent and probably didn’t get enough insulation, unless you’re very sparing with it.

My opinion is that the wall is already so massive, that we only need a thin layer to prevent reverberations in the cavity, so you can tear it in 1/2 or 1/3rds to spread it around.

There’s still more cables to go in the qall , it gets is more complex all the time.

There’s some of the floor insulation left, plus I have a few metres in the van.

How important is it?

Oh…good. When are you down?

LOL.

When wr get it in lets close it quickly so no more wires can be put in…

Can’t we just get some more rock wool quickly to go in the main body of the wall? Seeing as we have gone to such an effort to make the wall soundproof, it doesn’t seem like a good idea to cut cornrers at the last minute.

Yes you’re right. 50mm is enough though

If someone can see what offers are on at B&Q I can try and pick some up tomorrow morning. Bit of a PITA…

How many rolls?

A quick google suggests they don’t carry it. But not deep research. On my way to the space in a moment anyway, can go via screwfix if any needs?

I’m at screwfix now, damn you!

Hey guys, im down tomorrow, not tonight.
Lets try and get a bunch of photos up of progress, theres been a few but i think we could
raise participatin if we show members how far its come

Doesn’t have to be special rockwool. B&Q W.Norwood has the Knauff stuff that’s pre-cut for 400 and 600mm joist spacing.
