Make a cushion cover workshop - 20:00 Tue 16th Feb

(time tbc. but probably 20:00-22:00)

Ruth Miller will teach you how to make a simple cushion cover.

This would be a great opportunity to get some basic textiles skills under your belt, and will brighten up your home :slightly_smiling:

You’ll need to bring your own cushion (pick the tattiest off your sofa) and fabric (although we do have some in the craft box, and Ruth has some she can bring).

Please RSVP below so we can get an idea of numbers. Bear in mind that we have 4 sewing machines and will need to share them between all participants.

Oh bother I can’t make this date, we’re away for half term. I would be interested if she does another one.

Maybe we should move it if it’s half term?

Hi there, I am new to the Maker Space. My partner and I were planning on coming to the open evening next Wednesday. However, this class really appeals to me and I would love to RSVP if there are any spaces left! Are you still planning on holding the event next Tuesday?

Thanks a mil

Sorry - I have just re read this and seen it is infact in February! Will keep an eye on this feed but would be very interested once date is agreed.

No worries see you soon!

Could people please RSVP to this?

@afshind, @timahrensbach, @peter_hellyer, @unknowndomain, @matt and @CPeerless have all expressed an interest. Anyone else?

I will be coming.

@textilestechs - Would be good to have a round-up of all the sewing machines in the space and make sure they’re in reasonable working order.

There are currently 3, plus the overlocker.

Anyone used the Bernina recently?

I know someone ‘adjusted’ the tension a while back. Unfortunately…

Would’ve loved to come but now have an evening work workshop until 20.30 :frowning:

Starts at 20:00 tonight. Bring a cushion and some fabric (there are some scraps of fabric in the back if needed)

Be great if people could come a little earlier to get things set up/tidied and get the sewing machines out, plugged in and tested.

Also: all those interested in screen printing printing can come along at 19:00 as we’re having a meeting to look at the options/possibilities for spending our £1K!

Sorry for eleventh hour reply - just realised this is tonight. I have less than no free-time at the moment so can’t do this. Hoping to emerge fully-functioning very soon (next week?) and dive into helping with the membership system.

I didn’t know we needed materials, I don’t have any of the stuff.

You just need a cushion

I don’t have one.

I’ll bring a few spare cushions for members who find themselves currently cushionless
