Hey all,
Finished a small project and wanted to make a quick post as it showcased a few new skills!
It’s a magnetic knife rack, made to attract to the metal case on the boiler in my kitchen, which takes up a tonne of counter space.
This was my first time using the big CNC independently, using flush cut bits on the router table, using magnets in a project, and using wood I’d milled from a log myself.
The crux of the project was needing to bore holes with a perfectly flat bottom, leaving wood to the thickness of 2mm for the magnets to be glued into. No drill bits I know of fit the bill for the job, and it was a great excuse to get stuck into the CNC.
Would love to thank @James_Nahajski and @JoelMilner for their time answering my questions around the CNC, they have both been very helpful and supportive.
Here are some of the failed attempts, friends I made along the way -
Cheers,
Pete
