Hi everyone, I love reading about the stuff everyone has made in the space, so wanted to share a project I’ve just finished. My wife found this greenhouse / propagator in a closing down sale and challenged me to turn it into a tiny Kew Gardens. And this is the result!
I’ve made it to OO scale (1:76.2) which is the same as most model railways. The walkways were planned in Illustrator and cut from 3mm plywood on the trusty Trotec 300 laser cutter in the space. I also used the laser to cut individual steps for the spiral staircases - they have treads engraved on them too. The planters were designed to fit around the walkways using a trial of Shapr3D and printed in PLA on the X1 Carbon 3D printers. The railings and bannisters were also 3D printed although I think I was pushing the machine to it’s limits as most of them broke in the process. The benches are from a kit and I hope to make some tiny information boards in the future.
Thanks to @Martyn_Thomas and @scday94 for teaching me how to use everything and to @Lia for help with the prints. Need to get inducted on the resin printer yet to make some more figures!
