Hi folks,
I’ve gotten to know the Knitmaster machine very intimately over the past few months, so I’d like to share what I’ve learned through a quick tutorial. There are a few aspects that can trip new users up, so the aim would be to cover the basics and help you to avoid common mistakes.
I would hope to cover:
- Unpacking the machine
- Understanding the different parts
- Attaching the carriage and tension unit
- Preparing the yarn
- Threading the yarn through the tension unit
- Setting gauge and stitch size
- Understanding the carriage controls
- Casting on
- Knitting first few rows
- Attaching weights
- Using the electronic pattern reader
- Casting off
- Packing the machine away
Although I’d be demonstrating on the Knitmaster, the knowledge would be broadly applicable to the Brother machine as well.
If anyone’s interested, please let me know and I can suggest some potential dates!
