Looking to learn hot air/SMD soldering

Hi Everyone,
I’m looking to learn how to hot air solder so I can build a logic simulator on a pcb using SMD parts.

I have been using a Yihua 858d hot air station, but struggling to create strong clean joints- parts moving around too much, but also not sure how much paste to use.

Is there a particular session that would be helpful for this please? Think I just need to watch someone experienced solder to understand- online research hasn’t been much use.

Hello! Maybe I could help? I’ve done quite a bit of fine-pitch SMD work in the space. You could come to Electronics Night on Thursday and I could show you. I’m around a lot, so you might also catch me some other time in the week :slightly_smiling_face:.
