My current project is a speaker, made from 18mm baltic birch plywood. I’ve got them all cut to the required panel size, and was hoping to wrap up this project soon as I’ve completed the electrical side of it - but as a newer member I have yet to complete the woodshop induction (on waitlist).
I was hoping someone might be able to help with with the routing (purple parts in elevation diagrams) and in return I’m more than happy to lend a hand on anything I can (I’m skilled in 3D modelling/grasshopper, but also happy if you need some manual labour ! )
I’ll be in the woodshop a lot this week. Maybe we can cross paths so I can give you some advice, but my first piece of advice is to get inducted on the routers and I believe @lamacchiacosta to be doing that to a high standard recently.
If you are around tomorrow, Tuesday the 4th of July, I am inducting someone else on Routers, and you could join to get inducted.
It will be at 5pm, to finish on time for the members meeting.
Once inducted, you could try yourself the following days, or I can help you through the process, to familiarise a bit more and become more independent with those powertools.
As you have the templates already, most of the work is done, just get some double side tape to keep them in place.
I highly recommend using this particular cloth double sided tape. Its by order from B&Q online only, not in store.
A few of us at MS were looking for the ideal tape and for me this is it. Some folk use the blue painters tape and super glue (cyanoacrylate) trick but I prefer the cloth tape.

They are a UK company providing lots of different tools, so may be worth ordering from them, as B&Q online is just forwarding orders to the main companies.

Hi @lamacchiacosta , thank you for the induction offer! Unfortunately I can’t get to the space before 6:30 on a weekday - and additionally, is it allowed to complete a router induction before the general woodshop induction ? I may just need to practice some patience here
@lukecel , as anyone of us who joined, at the beginning can seems a bit slow to start using the Makerpace, but put yourself through all the inductions you think you will need asap to get you going and be at the MS on a regular basis.
