Hi - yes great recommendation. I have been to this place before, its defiantly worth a visit its like going in to a time warp - and do go into the warehouse next door - you might still find the original owner fixing machines and smoking a cigar…

The Janome and Bernina machines in the space came from Wimbledon Sewing Machines in Kingston road, during its closing down sale. I believe it was run by the brother of the guy running the Balham emporium.

I’ve been before. Definitely Worth a visit.
Also the limited opening times adds to the mystery.

This is a good revision into mechanics and history of sewing

The man sized simulation of a sewing machine is a thing of amazement.

Great! I’ve never seen this - 'simple cranks and leavers…"
