Lighter cover

Hi all! I was looking to make a lighter cover like the one pictured and I’m wondering if it’s plausible.
I don’t have any metalwork experience so I’d love feedback or suggestions.
How could I go about making something like this?

I’m guessing here, but you might make a positive original by 3D printing with a filament designed for ‘lost-wax’ casting, then cast it in metal by that method.
Google suggests ‘Polymaker polycast’, ‘MoldLay’ and ‘Machinable wax Print2cast’ amongst others as suitable filaments.

+1 for printing a pattern and casting it. There might be some shrinkage when the metal cools though, bare that in mind when printing a pattern

Does it have to be metal? You could 3D print in a metallic finish filament.

My original thought had been metal but definitely open to alternatives!

You can also electroplate 3D prints for the best of both worlds!
