Light fixing

This was a fun project.
I wish to use a lamp in conjunction with my bench. I made a beautiful bench but, without the various accessories, the bench would never realise its potential.
You can see some of the accessories which work with the bench.
The light fixing is a simple affair.
I made it to rest in the holes unaided initially. However, one issue with dog holes is that they change size. So, all the dog posts have to be less than 19mm diameter. This might produce some vibration when working so, I tapped and epoxied a threaded rod and added a star knob etc. It works but, I can think of ways to make a better, stronger version. I could have drilled a 6mm hole straight through the post and dropped in a long machine screw; I didn’t have a long drill bit handy. I will see how it performs.
I can use the fitting in any hole. Tightening down with the star knob can only be done in the back centre 3 holes or the front centre 7 holes. It reaches every part of the bench from the back 3 holes and is easily moved to an adjacent hole without the star knob if needed.
Turning Sapele is great fun. I used a box blank which I had already mortised onto a disc of wood, the disc of wood was then screwed to a faceplate. I particularly enjoyed using my small curved skew to finesse the dog post. Access was extremely limited and I had to cut both handed, to a precise diameter.

It was very satisfying to see the improvement and control I have developed throughout my limited time spent turning. I had zero ability making planing cuts initially.
Lovely stuff.
