The cube shaped lexmark printer under the desk is working almost perfectly.
The paper type in the menu on the printer itself was set to “vinyl labels”, changing that to paper stopped the ghosting on colour prints.
Colour pictures with large dark areas produce a slight vertical smear below the dark areas, most people won’t run into that, better paper that has not been stored in a humid railway arch or further playing with the settings for paper roughness etc might get around that.
I’v spent some money on it, If any past or future heavy users of this printer want to give me a tenner towards toner then I will happily accept. We can have a long debate about printers and consumables again soon.
This is your chance to print things while it lasts.
