Is anyone planning on being there tonight? Loads of material arriving today. Loads of wall can be built with it. Let’s do it!
Someone come keep me company?
Followed by beers. It is after all a Friday.

When you start putting up plasterboard, bear in mind the order of overlaps. There are three layers, with the final ply layer (dusty side only at the moment) going on top of the blockwork.
Just tack the first layer of PB onto the studs (two screws should do it). Then use the 50mm screws to attach both sheets to the studs. Then use the 75mm screws to attach the battens to the plasterboard and the studs. Then use the 25mm screws to attach the plywood to the battens. I have a horrible feeling I did my maths wrong and we’ll need more screws.
Yes. Coming tonight.
Was planning a ‘Reclaim the Space’ event to unearth Phase 1.
Archaeology…
Yes, this is a wise plan I think. That said, use materials make space is a good mantra.
If we had a good go at sorting out the snug there would be somewhere to put the stuff in phase 1. There are mountains so deep in there that all the boxes at the bottom are broken.
Skip. We should really get a skip.
That or free cycle some stuff. I might start a ‘we want this or it goes’ style thread.
Like, the drawing boards for example, nice to have one, but like 5? Surely not.
Yes, and many of the easy access shelves are full of stuff we don’t need access to.
Hi dermot - could you call adam or srah if you have their number? lorry is iminent
You not got my number?
>_<
of course. all academic now anyway
The wall has to have the wiring pur in it first .
Am ill but on my way down to do it
One side can go up! That’s enough work. Get yourself better.
Or… Just say what wiring
@boldaslove (Paul) and I made a start on some tidying and then I had to abandon ship. I took some glass photo frames and two sets of unopened screwdrivers to Oxfam in Herne Hill, on the basis that they were covered in thick layers of dust and had never been used. If anyone wants them, sorry, they’re in Oxfam! We cleared two shelves that are now useable. Happy to have another go soon.
Screwdrivers?
Little electric ones with red handles. Maybe I was a little hasty but I figured since the packets have never been opened and we have about 50 screwdrivers on the board they must be surplus to requirements. If that was the wrong call I’ll go get them back!
I am on my way down. Aiming to be there for 7:30.
Ok, I’m on my way, probably about half 6, quart to 7, public transport allowing…
I can get down for 8 if you’re still building?
Great!
