Laser cutting query/assistance required

I’m trying to cut a basic stencil.

Previously I used Ombudsman Stencil which is a standard stencil font. For some reason this is not available on the laser cutter PC. In addition when I try to open my file the font is not recognized and changed into a different font.

I tried saving the file as PDF and still the file was amended when opening in on the computer for the laser.

Has anyone any ideas how to keep this font?

Either, expand outlines in illustrator on your computer

Or, install the font.

is it normal that there is no internet connection to the laser PC? Which means I can’t install the font

Nope, there should be Internet on that machine. Maybe network cable has come out?

urgh!!!

there are no loose cables that I can see, but that’s difficult to tell because of the box. I though the internet ran through the dongle?

Also the laser cutter isn’t responding makes a beep and does nothing after you press play. Tried pressing the fan button and all the rest no response. Shutting down and restarting no response.

I’m cutting these by hand now, but can someone look into it.

I’d suggest not installing the font. Get it right on your own machine, duplicate the design, and on the copy do expand to outlines / curves (however your software phrases. So much less can go wrong this way.
