Update: aligned the beam today, BUT an issue with sensors that might be connected to the misalignment surfaced. We need to have a proper look at fixing options, have lots of work until the weekend but will try summoning the solution over the weekend. Will keep you posted.
Hi,
Whats the latest with the laser?
D
The z-stop/sensors don’t work properly and there has been a collision/plural of the bed and the nozzle.
So far it looks fixable, but have to communicate with Trotec and get parts as well as level the bed.
Damn, so its going to be out of service for while? Is there anything I can help with?
Hello @lasers ,
the laser cutter will need an inspection from Trotec technicians, we are awaiting to hear about their availability.
We will notify you when the laser is operable in this post
We are expecting Trotec visit on 1st July, their earliest date…
Thanks @petra for you work in this
It’s a real shame that someone didn’t raise the issue of the bed crashing the laser head before – there’s clear evidence this happened on at least one previous occasion (there’s a dent in the old bed at exactly the same spot). If this had been flagged we might have been able to plan maintenance in for it when we were dealing with the aftermath of the laser cutter fire (also not reported!) and avoided this downtime
We all make mistakes, we all break things: it’s inevitable…the gift to fellow members is to own our mistakes and notify the techs so they can be fixed
Thank you Petra!
Well said Dermot!
Dear @lasers ,
Lasercutter is back and running splendidly!
We exchanged cables, aligned the beam and trotec technician David fixed the sensors as well as tested our power and we are on 100%.
Anytime you run into anything unusual like poor extraction, bed crushing, fire, loosing connection, inaccurate cuts etc. please get in touch with @lasertechs so we can fix it timely.
Happy lasing,
Your laser techs.
Amazing!! Thanks to all that worked so hard to fix it!!
Yipppeee!
Thank you so much!!
AMAZING Petra, thank you
