Laser cutter Inkscape woes - can't see a post on this

Was trying to cut from Inkscape yesterday and it seemed to crash the Job Control driver, followed by Inkscape itself crashing. Rebooted etc…no joy.

Tried converting to PDF, same thing…

Transferred file to CorelDraw…line weights got messed up and colours changed in some areas. So a bit of a disaster.

@Daniel_Tang was there and was under the impression that this has been the case with Inkscape for some months.

@lasertechs, any ideas?

P.S. I saved a screenshot of the error message to the Desktop.

I always use inkscape and I never had problems…

Are you generating your file with the same version?

There was an issue with crashing before. It might be worth clearing those log files again

I find that when JobControl crashes, swapping the laser cutter to a different USB sorts the problem temporarily. Sometimes have to swap several times in a session. Also, reducing the resolution may help.

@StudioNelle had similar problems, I think.

Yes there has been many threads on issues with inkscape to job control - I don’t think there was a conclusive action plan.

As @TomHedges mentioned try dropping the resolution as a first option. Rebooting changing usb cable second, try to hide your frustration, wipe your tear and try option 1-2 again.

I think it’s something do with how the file is made or saved originally that can cause issues. I haven’t had any problems for a while. I Would also check preferences are not set to someones name.
