Kitchen appliances improve proposal

Recyclable and local!!! Double win.

This is a proper machine…let’s get it fixed!

Ha ha…

So after spending several hours this evening trying to fix the machine, we managed to isolate a fault (although not the root cause) down to a 12V supply within the machine that wasn’t supplying 12V. Uploading…

Also, a relay was knackered (possibly a cascade fault from the 12V supply breaking) which we replaced. By applying 12V from a lab supply we managed to make the motor move (yay!), However we need to work out what is at the end of that white lead which might be broken (probably another fault).

A task for another day!

Great stuff guys!

Traced the fault to a transformer buried deep inside the machine.

Don’t suppose if anyone knows if there is a 230v/15v 1.1A transformer kicking around in the space?

If you go down to the snug today, you’re in for a big surprise…

Or a big disappointment.

Worth a shot!

No luck at the space, but have ordered one from RS. Should get it Thursday… Have lathe induction that night so might tie in well together

Just to say, this thread makes me very excited. I think I gave half my life savings to Parlour / Sesami when I was building that machine a year or two back.

Could this be the answer?

Don’t forget the actual coffee

I suggest an instructions article in #infrastructure

Woohoo! Great work all! Does this mean we need to set up a bean fund and find a friendly local supplier?

Yes we do need a bean fund or a regular stock.

We are out of beans.!!!

@StudioNelle worked out we can use ground coffee for the machine but this does work out a lot more expensive.

Sainsbury own fair trade espresso beans are good value and good taste for £2 227g
But only available from larger store
Or
Do as I used to do and buy 10 kg a time.
Or source a local coffee suppliers

So is this something that needs to be funded by coffee drinkers or otherwise?

It’s a good question.

I’ve always taken the view that the space should (partly for simplicity) fund: tea, coffee, milk and sugar. But that other ‘consumables’ are down to members to buy.

A box for the bean fund or something?

Also to keep it working we need to get cleaning tablets and descaling tablets for the machine. it automatically lets you know when this is required.

I have done this religiously with the genuine Jura products and it has produced over 10k cups for me.

I would suggest getting the same
