I finished this project last week, dubbed the Mallet of Truth and Reconciliation. Its a great project that wasn’t too intense and provides you with a very useful woodworking tool at the end. There are plenty of good tutorials for the construction online, but I would recommend augmenting the mallet to what you think would be most useful/comfortable. I kept one striking face flat but rounded off the other, making them useful in different situations.
The mallet is constructed primarily from oak, ash and finished with a couple of walnut dowels.
