JoinerCAD Makerspace Accounts (three available)

Hey Makers,

I hope you had a good start to your new year. Today I’m a bearer of gifts:

I’ve reached out to the developers of JoinerCAD, a popular woodworking extension for Fusion 360, and told them about our space. They were so kind and provided us with three educational accounts for our members. The tool is quite handy because it takes the pain out of miters, segmenting inner shelf boards, BOMs and even has an option to include standard hinges bore holes etc.

I can assign (and re-assign a license key to members). So if you have a project to design please let me know and share the email address you’re using to log into Fusion360. Once done let me know and we can re-assign for somebody else.

Here a guide video playlist what the tool can do: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSOq8T9qbsYWg9d6DRZtxY5ZRJoYLbJE6

They’d love if we could share projects we make with it but besides that there is no further requirements.

Oh cool. Thanks for organising. I will not start my project before March but will contact you then.

I have been learning Fusion 360 for the last couple of weeks, for both woodwork and non-woodwork projects. I found the initial learning curve very steep, but it does get better with practise.

This plug-in looks very compelling! I can see some features would greatly reduce the time and effort involved for some tasks (e.g. “Skeleton Design” for building-out cabinet models) and other features accomplish things that would be far too time-intensive to model otherwise (e.g. “Intelligent Hardware Placement”).

I was particularly disappointed with the lack of BOM-generation natively in Fusion 360. That feature looks invaluable in JoinerCAD, and how I had expected Fusion 360 to “just work”.

For anyone who is coming across this post whilst pulling their hair out trying to learn Fusion 360 - this is the plug-in you need! I’ll be sure to tap you up @Christian when I’m desinging my next woodwork project!

Awesome thanks Jamie! I’m looking forward to your message! If you come across any fusion challenges please share here as we have many members who might love to assist on a good puzzle.
