Any one got anything suitable to line this with?
I’m up for helping with the bike rack when you back in action in the space @conomara
cool, should be soon.
I got all the scaffold joints I need.
Anyone got scaffold tubes lying around.
I think I can get some from my old coop,
if so, i just need to transport them.
@conomara
I just spent eight hours tidying the wood pile out front.
Just a few bags of rubble now and you’re in to get the bike rack down!
you must have got tired of tinder!
well done, ill try and get some free time to get on the rack before we fill the
space again with crap
Aww man! I go away for one weekend and miss the bonfire!
reminds me of growing up on the halting sites
with less rubbish
@members any one got a suitable liner for this planter?
Best to ask @dermot he knows about this stuff.
I’ve got some landscape fabric that could be stapled in.
Okay great!
that sounds perfect [i have no idea what that is ]
Do we fill it with those light pebble things? Or maybe charcoal???
Just something light than soil that can add a bit of drainage. Could be a solution for the barrel of charcoal
If it’s coming out of your pocket could I buy it at cost price.
I guess you got it cheaper than I would pay at b and q or whatever
Many different approaches work. Modern thinking is to make sure the soil itself drains well, rather than having a layer of drainage at the base…not what I was taught!!!
I think that a little research is needed if you want to put charcoal! It changes the pH of the soil! I have no idea if it make it acid or basic and I don’t know if this is good or bad for the plants but I know for sure that affect the pH!
I’ve had a little look.
25% charcoal can improve growth.
50% charcoal will kill the plants.
If there’s any left I’ll put 25% in the bottom and top with soil.
FYI:
Any idea when u can drop this in?
Well I couldn’t wait.
Got some sheet thing for £6.
Put a few bricks in the bottom.
Iris donated a bunch of plants from the community garden.
All done.
There’s still some space in it if any one has any off cuts or plants they want to put in.
Max loves it!!!(kidding)
[not bad for £6 all in]
Used bricks coz the charcoal is still burning.
