Induction guide

Tags: #<Tag:0x00007fa4950bc3b8>

I’m documenting my process to use Kyle’s tool to do inductions here. Feel free to continue using whatever system you’re using if you want, but this one makes it fairly painless:

So say you want to do an induction on Desktop CNCs.

  1. Go here: https://kyle-barker.com/SLMS/InductionText/ Here’s how to use it:

  2. Post the induction post

  3. Request tool control access for the new inductees, or add directly if you have access.

  4. When granted, feedback to people they can start using their fobs

  5. (If the induction had more than 1 week of notice) Use this tool to identify people that didn’t answer: https://kyle-barker.com/SLMS/InductionText/Session.php

    1. Send emails to first 'x’ers
    2. Update induction wait list w/ number of 'x’s for each person.

I’ll be editing this post as I go through these. Feel free to add more details too.

Check out How to Run an Induction

argh… didn’t know that existed. I like mine more cause it uses the tool made by some jerk.

Combine?

Haha, sounds like a plan! I’ve swapped over to a template based system for the text that techs in each area can edit. If other folks (beyond cnc, mig, 3d printing, intro woodshop) want templates, let me know! It’s helpful to have consistent text.

or just add a link to this thread in that thread

I added all the content here to the other list. Can a moderator pls detele this whole post? (@petra sorry for calling u personally, I don’t think we have an @moderators group)
