In San Francisco for a week

Hi, I just thought I’d mention that I’ll be working in SF for a week. I’ve no idea if there’s any marvellous things I should check out, or if there’s anything wonderful that could be brought back that’s hard to get hold of in the UK? Let me know if you have any recommendations or things to do as it’ll my first time visiting too.

  • Exploratorium
  • There’s a computing museum
  • Various tech campuses have public areas
  • There must be some smithsonian thing there.
  • Noisebridge hackerspace

thanks @unknowndomain WIll def look up noisebridge.

Well if you can get a car and drive to the Muir Wood do it you won’t regret it.

ps: you might be able to get there by bus too

Are you still in SF?

For sure go to the beach! There’s on in SF, but it’s not really as spectacular, if you want a really cool experience you have to drive down to Santa Clara for Hunter Beach I believe.

If you’re willing to drive further Arroyo Seco is a must! (3 hours from SF). You can also climb mission peak (little over 1 hour from SF). Muir Woods is nice as well (1 hour from SF).

Use the app Detour and take any of their tours really. I liked the Castro one, made me appreciate the area more.

Rent a bike from Fisherman’s Wharf and bike to the Golden Gate, it’s nice even if you live there, highly recommend it.

Go chill by the park by Martin Luther Kings Monument.

So many things to do really  I love that city!

thanks for the tips guys! Unfortunately I haven’t been able to hire a car as I did a few things more locally at the weekend, but it’s a cool city and I’ll make sure I’m a bit more prepared next time.
I’m flying back today, but will more than likely be over again in the near future.

cheers again!
