Homebrew Stand

I saw in a few other topics that some folks around here might be homebrewers. I’m looking to build a new home brew stand for a single tier setup. Ideally it would look something like this. More likely it will be a wood and steel combo to help cut down on costs and make it a little more original.

Any input on the design would be really appreciated.

This was my previous attempt but it was a bit of a behemoth and I had to dismantle it when I moved. http://imgur.com/a/tPGZ7

Looking forward to getting this project off the ground.

I’m a fan of the tier systems as they are more compact and the more I have to move huge amounts of boiling water around the better.
something like this.

I previously had a tiered system but moved to a single tier to clean things up and in attempt make things a little easier to monitor. I have all the hardware (chugger pumps, quick releases, tubing, etc) for a good quality single tier. The design I found was perfect because its compact, all the hardware can be mounted onto it, and it’s fairly clean looking. I’m currently working from a HERMS setup so I don’t necessarily need the middle burner but I kept it for the stand in my previous design.

This type of metal might allow me to make a similar design to the one I showed at first but I think it risks being to flimsy if I want the collapsing design.

Kee clamps or pipe fittings might work for you. Plus they’re dead trendy for furniture at the moment!

This might be the prefect thing. If i can come up with a compact design using these pipes then I’m sold on the idea. I’ll probably draft something up tonight.

For those interested in the progress. I’ve decided to go the kee klamp route. Hope to have it completed this week with the pumps, filter, flow chiller and burners mounted. Then the beer can start flowing.

Edit: If anyone wants to help me get that streetlight working I’m all ears.

I love it when a plan comes together

There’s nothing you can’t do with kee klamp

Are you planning to make a brew monitor e.g. don’t drink, drinkable, drink?

Eventually I want to convert two kettles to electric and build a controller. Not sure how I could work the street light in but its entirely possible.

in any case, blinkenlights always make things better.

Are you looking at heating and cooling?

Heating. I’ve already got cooling sorted. Looking at 2 x 5500 Watt elements and enclosures from BrewPI, 3 temp sensors, and then i need to build out the control panel to handle all my equipment. No rush at the moment but it’s on the list.

BrewPI looks pretty awesome.

For anyone that was interested in seeing the final product. It turned out nicely and I’m giving it an inaugural run today. The kee klamp idea was a life saver.
