haha thats true…and the youtube video one has holds laid out for childs play, literally : )
But they are usually laid out for home training, more doing drills, power endurance and strength training.
We’re expecting our first baby next year so I wont be able to get to the big climbing wall or on outdoor trips as much as before. The home wall is there to do short drills between long nappy changes.
Cool. Fair play. Honestly didn’t know if it had a purpose. It’d end up as somewhere to hang clothes if it were in my house! Good luck with the project and the baby!
It looks like a winch controller, but if the wall was suspended on a winch cable I’d expect a little bit of bounce when she starts climbing on it. Could be the winch drops the wall onto some fixed stops - there’s nothing to imply that it’s safe to climb on it any anything other than that position.
The board was 18mm wbp ply, I brushed the exposed top edge with a little epoxy but it wasn’t loads, held up great. Kept off the ground on a couple of bricks. No other waterproofing
Holds - I just used cls softwood, untreated - as had it lying around- and they worked great, skin friendly and strong enough. Chopped them up with a jigsaw at an angle to get jugs/ slopers, then rounded them with a knife then sandpaper. For the smallest holds just bought some resin screw ons as less than a centimetre thick the wood wasn’t strong enough. Also good for small footholds was drilled coins.
