Hi from Brendan

My name is Brendan (would make a silly Topic title otherwise). I am not a member of the South London Makerspace (playing hard to get  ). However, I do live in South London and I am member of the London Hackspace in East London.

I work with Traffic Lights and own two Printrbots and a non-functioning Shapeoko. I like playing with electronics, open source stuff and cufflinks.

If I pop across, anyone around for the Open Evening on Wednesday ?

Brendan

Every open evening is open evening  I’ll be there so I’ll see you then!

electronics, open source stuff and cufflinks

Cufflinks!? Like it.

And – why the shapeoko is non-functioning? Is there a story to tell?

Cufflinks: http://www.cuffelinks.com/pages/about.html

Shapeoko - non-functioning; My build skills are lacking - frame is loose. It on the TO Do list at someone.

Nice. Custom cufflinks is something that had crossed my mind at some point. Good to see someone doing it!

On CNC, earlier in the year I had a project that would have benefitted from having access to one to iterate some parts on. I would say let’s fix that shapeoko, but I should hold back and help with the existing to do list at Makerspace =]

(oh – re-reading on posting, no entitlement meant, just in the sense of getting more of 'em out there)

Great open night - thanks. Now a signed member (well when the money hits the makerspace account)/

Thanks All.

Toby - re: “no entitlement meant”. Did not read it that way. What about a long term loan of Shapeoko to the makerspace ?

Well it’s not for me to accept or not – I’m just a fellow member. But that’s certainly a great offer, and making it work would be a fun group project for one of the weekly nights like µMeet.

Or Wednsedays - always good to have a meaty project on the go for visitors to gawp at

A Shapeoko to play with would be amazing…
