Help? - Modified (Arduino/Teensy) telephone with pre-recorded messages

Hi everyone!

New here, and (very!) new to electronics, nice to meet you all

I’m currently working on a project where I’d like to modify an old BT Viscount 9511R Telephone for an archive project. Sort of similar to a wedding audio guest book, I’d like it to cycle through 9 pre-recorded messages (navigable by the 1-9 buttons), and also have the capability to record your own via the hash key, as well as listen back to others that have been recorded. There’s a great tutorial online: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dI6ielrP1SE but my project differs in a few ways that I don’t have enough knowledge to navigate!

I’m wondering, is there anyone here who would be up for helping me out? I do have a bit of budget for this, so can compensate you for your time, and have been scouring some freelancer hiring sites, but not with much luck. If anyone knows of anyone, who would be up for helping me out, that would be much appreciated ! I’m also really keen to get to know some of this stuff myself, so would love to be involved as much as is possible

All the best, Pol

This doesn’t sound too hard

I’d get a teensy 4.x and an audio shield for it.

Here’s some more information

Teensy Audio Library, high quality sound processing in Arduino sketches on Teensy 3.1.
