Hallo, pretend I'm an imbecile; I need help; wood/metal enclosure and electrics

Hi there, I’m a comedian, new to the area and I’ve been getting into the world of looping guitar, piano-any audio- with the intention of using it in my act and, well, having fun. I explored all sorts of options including all the usual looping pedals and came to the, unsurprising, conclusion that the best looper is my iPad mini using the app Loopy.

The interface I have has an option for a USB foot controller and I began using the KMI 12 Step but the buttons are just too squidgy. I had a poke around and there is nothing on the market that
a) has tons of buttons
b) isn’t a behemoth.

I’m trying to keep this teeny. I’ve bought momentary stomp switches, a usb number pad to salvage from and, well that’s it. I bought an enclosure stomp box but it’s far too tall and not nearly wide enough.

What I don’t know is how to build the enclosure, put the electronics in there in a way that will be tidy and not break and, well, do anything that doesn’t involve making funnies on stage. I.e not good with my hands.

I was wondering whether anyone here could help me. Here is sort of what I’m looking for

Though there’s no need for the display (though it would be useful to have a few lights and whatnot)

I have opinions about the way it should look though (obvs). Personally I’d like it to be white and, I think it could be flat too. Ideally this thing would be the size and shape of the KMI 12 step I mentioned above, but look like the first iPod. All white!

Anyway, please do hit me up here if you have any suggestions of anyone who can help.
I am happy to pay for help; I just know that advice isn’t going to be enough; I need someone to either do it for me or with me

Anyway, love to get involved either way.
All best,
James.

(I found someone else who made one)

Here’s a simpler enclosure that a guy on the loopy forum is half way through making:

I don’t know where to begin. The guy uploaded the google sketch and the code for his foot switch to that instructables so I have that. But beyond ownership of a drill and a screwdriver I remain unqualified.

Are you a member? If so come along tomorrow night, me or Marco will be glad to helo you out .

Not yet  I was going to become one.
But what time tomorrow? I have a gig in Acton from 8pm
Any other days?

Thursday night is electronics night when me and Marco are there and happy to help any member who comes along . I am always willing to help but you will have to come down when i am there and not too busy.

From about 7.30

Well isn’t this becoming the right former Apple Retail haven @Glenn @veitch?

AWESOME!
how funny. Tom when are you around and can you help?
May be able to swing by this evening as I’m on first. But it wouldn’t be before 9:30.

And now i’m a member!
Still no access to slack though and can I use nfc on my watch to gain access?
if so, how?

Strictly speaking you’re not a member till GoCardless gives your money to us, which will be on the 4th.

We don’t really use Slack much at all these days, but you’ll get access to a “make me a slack” button when your membership goes through.

We’re restricting RFID to the bag of red fobs for now, just in case we get a weird edge case.

Cool. I just wanted a reason to use slack. The problem with being a freelancer is there are some tools that you want to use but can’t.

I’m super busy on a project right now, but I would suggest popping down to Electronics Night on Thursdays.

I can’t make most thursdays as I have gigs. I don’t suppose anyone is there today who can help me out?

Hopefully will be down in Monday nightand or Tuesday
