The instrument makers group is meeting again on Mon 10th July at 7pm.
This time around I’ll be sharing how I go about designing a guitar, including drawing a full-scale plan. I’ll try to cover stuff like:
- How to determine what scale length to use
- How your choice of hardware influences your design
- How to calculate a break angle
- How to figure out where to put your bridge, pickup(s), etc.
- How to lay out your controls
- Ergonomics and balance
- etc.
