Grasshopper Workshop, May 25th 11:00 - 13:00

Hi all,

I’m organising a two-hour workshop on Grasshopper on May 25th, 11:00 - 13:00, at The Glitch in Waterloo:

If you’re not familiar with Grasshopper, it’s a graphic editor for 2D and 3D geometry, used by architects, artists and designers to create unique generative designs. It comes included with Rhinoceros 3D, or ‘Rhino’ - a 3D modelling application for Windows and Mac.

The workshop will be led by Marysia Tańska, associate lecturer at the UAL Creative Computing Institute. It’s suitable for complete beginners and requires no prior knowledge of coding or 3D modelling.

Tickets are £5 and available via Eventbrite. Hope to see you there!

I dabbled with grasshopper at uni, but wouldn’t mind a refresher. Hopefully see you there!

@3dprinters @CNCers - just in case you’re interested!

Hrm… could I use Grasshopper to make a ton of roots? Like create a root propagation algorithm?

I think so - this tutorial covers how to make tree-like structures:

I was very interested in grasshopper and Rhino at first because they seemed to directly address some of the slicing for cnc problems I’m looking to solve.

Sadly though they didn’t have a Maker or community edition similar to Fusion. Maybe this has changed but this was a several hundered £ software I didn’t want to shell out.

Just saw the pricetag… unfortunately I’m out too. Thanks James!
