I thought I would try some kaizen foam to keep my chisels safe (in simple laser cut box). Very snug .
The finger holes were made by heating a cannoli mold to melting a recess.

More getting organised. I built a portable stand for saws, hammers and measuring tools.usedul for working outside in between rain showers.
Wood was chunky scrap pine chucked in the bin by local business.
The Base slots together without glue and is heavy and sturdy.
Super cool!
Very nice! Interesting tools there too…
thanks. I’ve got a few japanese saws, a genno (metal hammer) a marking saddle for marking two sides of a piece of wood accurately.
However, my newest purchase is a crazy looking Japanese rasp. It’s basically a load of saw blades latticed and with smooth and course teeth on either side. It’s very fast at removing large amounts of wood e.g shaping corners.
Happy to bring anything of interest to the next hand tools meetup.
Please bring this! I’ve been thinking of getting a shinto rasp but for whatever reason haven’t bit the bullet yet so would be good to see what it is like in person.
Hi Twm, just realised we were at yesterday’s induction. Sorry my penny didnt drop!
I’m teetering on investing in some tools, would be great if you could bring the saws, marking wheel and the saddle marker to the hand tools group? If it is convenient. Be great to learn from you how to get the best out of them.
Yes! Good to see you at induction
I should be able to bring em to next meeting or otherwise can ping you when I’m planning to be in the space.
