Someone in my building was giving away a coffee machine which was otherwise destined for the dump: I have a girlfriend who drinks coffee, and an engineering degree which gives me the audacity to think I can fix or overhaul anything.
Ended up completely stripping it down to clean it of however many years of coffee gunk. A bunch of vinegar, sanitiser, descaler and food safe grease later, it’s now making coffee. More stuff diverted from landfill!
