First sewing project (complete beginner) Stitching a bucket hat in one day

Hi all,

just wanted to share some pics from my first textiles project yesterday :slight_smile:

Before last weekend I was a complete beginner, I’d never used a sewing machine before at all, so i spent the best part of a day learning how to set it up, stitch some basic stitches and find my feet.

I then embarked on my first project, a reversible bucket hat! Many attempts and about 6 hours later, I’d completed the youtube tutorial and stitched all my ripstop nylon pattern pieces together :slight_smile:

I downloaded the free pattern from the Raeburn website, they make some cool high end clothing, mostly out of recycled parachute fabric and army surplus, occasionally they make their patterns available to the public :slight_smile:
