The bag on one of the festool extractors (the one with the touch buttons) is full. Can these be emptied and reused? Do we have spares anywhere? @woodtechs
If we have spares they are likely to be in the red filing cabinet under the bench beneath the tool control. If you’re not down anytime soon no drama, I will have a dig around the next time I’m down (apologies, it’s been an exceptionally busy couple of weeks)
Try looking under the mft table
Thanks, will have a look in both of these places this weekend.
Found some under the MFT table. Switched it in and the extractor actually has proper suction now. There are four more bags left in the box.
I checked the other extractor while I was at it and its bag is still almost empty.
What’s the deal with the 3 other mobile extractors / vacuum cleaners we have in the shop @woodtechs There’s a yellow Karcher and two green “CamVac”s. I’m pretty sure I recall reading that they shouldn’t be used because they don’t have the right filters.
They’ve been here a couple of months and are kind of in the way. Is there an eventual plan or can we get rid of them?
If they aren’t to be used then they should at least be labelled as such, I’ve definitely seen people using the yellow one.
The yellow karcher is (as far as I am aware) fit for use, although the filter is old and probably wants replacing. It’s not to the same standard as the festool but it’s fine for grubby work.
If things need repairing please let us know, and if there are parts needed thats ok, we strongly prefer to repair things if possible…
As the dust produced in the workshop includes mdf and hardwoods we should only be using M class vacuums, the karcher should not be used in the workshop.
@woodtechs have plans for the two green ones, I am back in the country at the last week of September and will be looking at how we can implement those.
