Faulty fridge advice

Morning All,
I woke up this morning to lukewarm milk from my fridge.
Lo and behold the fridge was not keeping anything cool and the freezer was in a similar state. I tried changing the socket and the fuse, which is as far as my knowledge extends . None of which has worked. Could anyone suggest a potential fix or if anyone has experience repairing such things to let me know? Thanks!

A well-sealed and closed fridge should keep it’s temperature for awhile even with the power off. It’s possible the door isn’t closing fully or the seal is coming off? (If it isn’t a power or cooling issue)

Could be the compressor or the thermostat, sadly both are not easy to swap.

I think it is a power/cooling issue

Ah that’s a shame. Good to know though thanks

Run start cap or the thermostats are the usual two culprits. Both of which are cheap and fairly cheap trivial to replace.

Assuming it’s not the fuse in the plug.

That is assuming it’s not a modern microprocessor controlled fridge

Hi, :smiley_cat: sometimes fridges need to be re gassed ( it is a problem we have at work with the larger industrial units ) . Keep well . Brian D=

Is there an interior light? If it turns on when you open the door, it would seem to have power. If not, then either the bulb is out or it’s not getting power.
