Fabric room sorting

Got a few things in the textiles area need to know whose they are because they have been around a long time with no movement

top shelf stuff (I know the left is old mask stuff? But I don’t know the rest)

And this tea urn full of stuff

There’s also stuff under the big cutting table which it would be a good idea to know more about @nhjansen?

Quilting stuff? Also what are these?

I asked about the tea urn months ago, no response, get rid of it…

It’s got fabric inside it now, just wondering whose

That tea urn might be worth hanging on to for now. It could possibly be useful as a tank for a coolant system e.g. for the Sieg.

Hmmmm, I am not convinced lol, unless we have something specific planned for it we are trying to clear stuff out…

I’m fine with keeping it, it’s not in the way, I just want to know whether I should put the fabric inside it into the communal pile or not.

Had to lol. It appeared out of nowhere, it’ll be with us when we move to the next location, and no one will ever know why we have it.

Wait- why are we keeping it and what does it have to do with textiles??

110% this - if it’s not relevant to the section, and no one is claiming it…ebay or bin, we have limited space

(it’s not mine, but…) in theory it could be useful as a dye vessel. synthetic dyes need to be heated to work, and the tea urn has some benefits over a really big saucepan (you can empty it via the tap rather than lifting it, for example)

not sure there’s demand for a dye station in the space OR any other use for a non-food-safe tea urn though

I think ebay

@metaltechs in case it’s something they needb

The tea urn might also be perfect for a DIY shredder for 3D printing waste - per recent discussion on disposal options - like this:

Can we have an idea (or a picture) of how big it is?
I am looking for a container with a tap at the bottom, I may be able to take it off your hair!

it’s a normal tea urn size, I think you could fit a small child in it

about the height of a chair (floor to seat height). don’t know how many litres and wouldn’t advise putting kids in it.

Hahahaha from “Banana for scale” to “Small child for scale” it’s an obvious step!

I would probably say it’s a bit too big for my needs! I’ll look at it next time I’m there if it’s still in the space by then.

Thank you.

That tea urn will outlast most of us as members.

Could be useful for an indigo dye bath - or a natural dye bath - if so, would be helpful for it to stay in textiles
