@3dtechs I have an extruder stopped extruding in the middle of the print. Nozzle seems to be (at least mostly) ok when pushing filament manually. Gears seem to be not rotating and making a weird noise. Anything I could check to diagnose it further?
No, I will have. A look tomorrow evening leave a note.
Looks to be the exturder motor. looks to be pretty dead. will try to clean but if not i will get another on order.
alternatively if anyone has any cse14HRA1L410A-01 motors going spare…
We will be doing some upgrades while this is out of action as we need to wait for parts anyway. A fresh build plate and an upgraded tool head with better and faster contactless homing hopefully.
UPDATE:
This is still in the process of repair but we have made good progress. The issue was a fatigued cable causing loss of signal to the extruder motor. In light of this we have converted the wiring loom in the printer to one than runs over a can bus interface. This means a single cable rather than 20 odd smaller fragile ones being fed all the way through the machine. This shouldn’t effect performance and will be easier to maintain in the future for the techs. If anything it expands are capabilities for the printer in the future.
I appreciate that this isn’t a really heavily inducted tool compared to the Bambu. We will book into some more inductions soon.
Thanks @vladisl0th for all the help this evening replacing the loom and helping to re wire the tool head.
