Hi all ![]()
My friend Iris is running this course in Peckham, starting 20th/22nd April for 10 weeks.
It’s affordable and I’ve told (by an independent student who’s done it twice now!) that it is great. Check it out!
‘Experimenting with Drawing’ will return to The Thomas Calton Centre in Peckham (just off Rye Lane) from next week! There is one class each week, and two options to take the course this term - either on Mondays 6-9pm or Wednesdays 6-9pm.
Both versions of the course run for 10 weeks, from the 20th and 22nd of April to the 6th/8th of July (11 weeks including one week of half term break).
Everyone is welcome; there is no prerequisite to have experience with art or drawing!
The course is aimed at those who are looking to dedicate time each week to working creatively, with peer and tutor support, and classes structured to try something new each week! Each class is made up of a 30 minute art history lecture, and then working in response to one or two exercises/ briefs, connected to the theme of the lecture. All materials are provided.
We will look at subjects such as:
Line and uses of charcoal
Drawing and Bookmaking
Drawing and text
Abstraction
Collage
Conceptual approaches to drawing
Rethinking the still life
Action/ Performance drawing and manifestos
Ink
Water soluble graphite
