"ERR_DEVCOM_011" From Trotec Speedy 300 Laser

@lasertechs

I’m having problems sending jobs to the laser this morning. In Ruby the “Push to Laser” button is disabled and greyed-out in the top-right of the “Prepare” screen. The “Queue” button is not disabled, if I click it an error pops up saying “ERR_DEVCOM_011”, which doesn’t yield any results from Google.

So far to troubleshoot I have:

  1. Restarted the laser and PC multiple times, restarted the tool control node (by powering off the PC)
  2. Ensured the lid is down and the laser does the little jiggle warm-up after being powered on
  3. Made sure that the honeycomb bed is correctly sat on the locating tracks
  4. Opened / closed the side of the unit to confirm that it is not ajar
  5. Manually moved the laser head with the direction arrows, also raised / lowered the bed

What do you suggest I do next?

Edit: Updated title in the hope that it’ll be easier for others facing the same problem to find this page from Google once it’s indexed

Figured it! The laser was configured for Job Control, not Ruby. I used the instructions on the desktop to flip it over.

Can you try re-importing your design from the beginning (to make sure there’s no issues with the file) also make use that you have selected the relevant material and colours are assigned correctly (watch out for greyed out colours - caused by trying to cut a fill shape etc.)

Let me know how you get on
