Donate 6mm dowels to help Bike Area, anyone?

(Rewording)

Hi folks! We’re looking for a dozen or so wooden dowels for the bike area pegboard project, and I thought I’d ask here before making a trip to the hardware shop. If anyone has any spare dowels they’d be willing to donate, it’d be a huge help! The holes are 1/4” (6mm), so anything in that width would be ideal.

Honestly, it’s less about the cost and more about saving time on the errand. So, if you’ve got a few lying around, I’d be incredibly grateful and it’d save me a trip! Thanks in advance!

As an alternative, dowels for the pegboard could also be 3D printed - it would only be a few grams. As I understand it, there’s filament that free for techs to use.

I dont mind cycling over to Toolstation for some dowels, and maybe I could get the rivets at the same time.

Thanks that would be great. The blocker on the rivets is that we only need 8 or so, so buying a box isn’t needed.

Or there is a dowel maker in the cupboard under the mitre saw where the domino sticks are

Thanks but only 10mm dowels there.

Thank you but 8mm is the smallest size it makes. :+1:

I have left 10 x 6x30mm dowels in the peg board. They are very loose, so I will bring some 8mm dowels in too to see where it goes from there.

Thanks @Riggerz. I was planning on hot gluing 6mm dowels anyway, so your kindness is greatly appreciated :+1:

Could never imagine that I would be dreaming of varnishing dowels!

Hot glue saves me the job!
