Dates for MakeTheSpace Easter specials?

I can’t make I until about 1, but maybe others in the space earlier?

Ok think I’ll get there 11 /12.

See you when you get there.

Guys, can ye take a few photos and post them, im suffering space withdrawal, I might try and poke the head in later, but purely as a biscuit run

Sorry chaps, I’m too sick to come in.

take it easy pete, momentum is good on the construction side, stay at home and think about tools

@adamjpage

Do you have a big contacter in your stockpile ? We need on to get the wiring finished in the workshop

Yesterdays progress, wall is clad most of the way round, and the electrics are nearing completion.

It’s looking really good in there!

We had to rip out all the old networking so there is no ethernet in the space any more, we only patched back in the CCTV and Access Control, please don’t plug into the CCTV switch, just accept that we only have Wi-Fi for now.

@stefanoromano didn’t quite understand the concept of the boy band look from last time, we instead got more of a watching paint dry kind of feel:

The doors and what not were moved over so there is plenty of space in phase 1 across the week for us to tidy up and make it ready for Saturday’s Arduino Day!

Oh my, that dusty room is looking excellent

All looking great.

One moan…loads of stuff shifted against block work wall. Is this to do with our network gear?

And what are the needs here, regarding cable runs etc. up the wall, and round the phase 1 side of the door?

I’m not worried about any temporary cladding look, the moment it’s full of makerspace-y stuff that wall will be beautifully plain. And for what it’s worth, I think the detailing into the door frame looks great in that shot, the opposite of temporary.

Thanks for noticing , its not quite finished but it will look that good close up as well when i have finished.

Have already sorted it in the back of the wall so it’s just straight up
And you can pick up power from the front or the back

So it might go up the wall to a ‘network cabinet’ over the door? @unknowndomain ?

The point of moving everything back is for Saturday to make the space presentable as we aren’t going to be able to get that wall clad for Saturday with ply…

The network cabinet needs to be bought and installed yes.

Okay, got it. Not hard to shift now that things aren’t leaning on the Ikea case.

If people need a network connection on Saturday, say for a Pi, where should they plug in?

bump! A wired connection that is

Hi Dermot,

Did you find out about the possibility of a wired network connection in the space? I might need to use it briefly.

Thanks,
Jan

All the Ethernet ports in the clean room should be live. If you’re experimenting with IP type things there’s a bunch of static IP addresses you can borrow/use — there’s a board by the network cabinet: grab a tag from it.

Ok, great.

Thanks.
