Damaged Overlockers x3

Good evening,
In regard to the overlock machine could we pls moving forward, do not use the overlock machines unless you are confident in how to operate it, or ask someone for help if you’re unsure. At present, three of our machines are out of service leaving us with non.

Karen has already spent a significant amount of her time ordering parts and carrying out repairs, which takes away from other important tasks. It is not fair or considerate to our members wanting to use them and are unable to carry on with their projects.

We must all work together to ensure our machines remain functional and well-maintained. A little extra care and consideration will go a long way in keeping everything running smoothly for everyone.

Those machines break often due to misuse - should we look at tool controlling them?

Also, would people find it helpful if I wrote up user guides with common ways machines get damaged? (stuff like where to cut the thread after sewing and the order to thread the loopers is almost never in the manual despite being the most common things i see trip people up)

That would be great. We planning to have qr codes on all the machines which directs them to the toolpages. I started to add all the manuals already and some useful videos but happy for you to add some more information.

Yes please thank you, I agree a guide would be helpful. But We should really also run inductions on sawing machines as we do on everything else that is machine operated in the space.

Do you think 42-litre boxes are enough for storage in the space? I have 4 arriving on the 7th Oct. I am not sure sure about the size.

Hey, i just wanted to check in about the overlockers before I commit to coming back into the space.

Are any of them up and running again or still down?

The two overclockers are being serviced the third onMillepunti is beyond repair I’ll let you know when they are back in the space. Thank you.

They are still repairing them hopefully by next week.

Good afternoon,

Just a quick update to let you know the machines are back up and running. The Millepunti is still being repaired, but unfortunately the company has gone bust so we can’t order parts for it .

This may not apply to everyone, but please make sure that if you’re not confident using any of the equipment, you ask for help or guidance before using it. This will help avoid any accidental damage.
