Hi there, is anyone willing to help me on Saturday with cutting plexiglass/plastic? I have a glass cutter and the shape needs to be curved, but I have not been successful with the manual tool. Maybe one for the laser cutter? Or a dremel tool or a saw? thanks so much! It’s for an exhibition next week
Normally the laser cutter is easiest, but that’s still out of order due to damage from another member. A coping saw may be what you need.
Do we have a likely timescale on when the laser cutter will be back in action?
@lasertechs , but I think we’re still getting quotes and figuring out the best course of action as the damage was pretty extensive.
Directors and lasertechs are working on a plan. As max said, there’s a lot to replace. We also have an exciting donation offer but the timing is not clear at this point.
How clean do you need the cut to be?
I’ve done this with a Dremel cutting disk in the past, but it’ll never be as good as laser cut.
Down cutting metal blade in a slow jigsaw, with some sacrificial sheet wood underneath?
Double side tape makes it cleaner
thank you - I will sit this one out until the laser cutter is back in action
