Cutting a simple stencil on the lasercutter

I want to cut a simple stencil for spray-painting a design on a metal guitar pedal.

Does the laser shop stock a suitable laser-safe material? Flexible, like mylar or other thin plastic?

Are there standard settings for this material in the Ruby library?

Thanks, any advice appreciated.

Hi.

We don’t stock that sort of material.
The tool page provides guidance on allowed materials.
If you go to the materials list in Ruby you may find settings that will work.
Sounds like a great project.
Can you document it in the discourse projects category?

Thanks for the advice Brendon. In the end I chose a different, more complicated and difficult way to decorate the pedal - hey that’s what we do at the Maker Space right :wink:. I will document it though, as lessons were learned.

FYI best stencil material i’ve used is cardboard. Especially the kind cereal boxes is made from. Simple and effective
