Crystal Clear Epoxy Resin

After several helpful suggestions, I’m thinking of trying to inject/fill my hollow 3D printed models with non-smelly clear epoxy resin instead of 100% infill at 11 hours per print! And I need about 10!

It’s usually about £32/Kg

Just wondered if anyone wants to chip in on 5kg at £95? Less than £20/Kg

I’d chip in for a kilo I reckon.

Just 3 more needed

I’d take a Kilo too

Call me the epoxy dealer

Just 2 more users needed.

I’ve got alginate too. Although I sold my only kilo to @platinumnqueen22

Super thanks for the lathe induction if I haven’t ready.
I love your induction style.

Why?

Because several people suggested it as a way to avoid 11 hours print jobs. Not sure how much that is in PLA.

I actually only need 3 or 4 to be fully robust. The rest can probably be 10% infill

When I make £1million I’ll give SLMS £500k

I’ll take 2, just to speed things up.
I reckon go ahead and order, can leave the extra in the space.

Just one more. I’d need the religious debt tokens asap

Interested - can this be used to repair stuff? I googled a bit and can’t find a noticeable difference, but I am not an epoxy expert!

If epoxy is epoxy pretty much, than count me in for 1!

Ultimately you could but this type of Epoxy as a really different viscosity and it’s much more like paint than the Epoxy you used I think. So despite sticking things together that it will definitely do when cured it will not have the strength resistance the 2 part epoxy counterpart have.

Hmm Thanks Laurent,

So I would not be gluing stuff together like from the hardware store, but using it to repair a windsurf board, so most likely over fibreglass matting. Something like this process:

Would it be appropriate for this?

Thanks!!

Yes, this epoxy should work (I personally think but could be wrong)

It is 2 part and expensive because it’s non-toxic and clear.
Takes 24hr instead of 30mins or whatever normal epoxy takes to ‘go off’.

@petra @Jonty_Bottomley and others have used it before but I think it achieves a hard, ‘crystal’ clear-glass like finish.

So, @Jonty_Bottomley has given me £30

@Esther_Gladstone and @asander1, how can you get funds to me, if you still want in?

I can take PayPal or bank transfer, if you PM me. Or we can meet at the space, if you’re in anytime soon?

Ok I am in- I will be in the space this weekend or can do paypal, your choice, just tell me if you go to the space, i live close!

Excellent thanks. Yes I should be in at some point this weekend.
I’ll probably order Sunday/Monday
