Crimp beads

sorry - another “where to get” question, but having just recently moved here, I often don’t quite know where to go for what…

I’m just looking for crimp beads, the kinds that are used in jewellery making for connecting two ends of steel wire…? also wondering though if that’s strong enough for a connection between a servo and a rod that should hold quite a bit of force…

thought about just soldering it, but my steel wire has a kind of nylon surface, so didn’t have much luck with the soldering…

can you strip the covering?

no, it’s not really a covering, it seems to be in the wire somehow…

Have you looked on eBay and AliExpress? They are both good for jewellery findings. You have to wait a bit for delivery from AliExpress though as the items come from Asia. The prices are good though.

What about just wrap a few turns of copper wire around the join then solder that? Will be neat and at least as strong as a solder joint.
