Haven’t been into the space much over christmas - is the lathe that’s still in the new screen printing area currently usable? (The bit that used to be metalworking)

Colchester Student Lathe - Is it usable at the moment?
I’ve seen people using it, but it’s a bit of a tight squeeze with all the stuff that is around it.

Yes and no.
it’s fully operational and in order to turn it on it only necessary to provide 24v power to the relay coils - wires hanging from the ceiling behind it.
However due to current clutter in screenprinting the clearance in front of it is unsafe, we need at the very minumum around 60cm - standing space - in front of it, so the person operating it would not be accidentally leaning upon it.

Sketchy working practices and metal lathes don’t go together very well, I’ll wait until it’s got a bit more clearance around it
I was under the impression that this was going to be moved, as we now have a new lathe. This needs to be taken offline or moved to the metalwork area asap.
This area has been allocated to screen printing for over a year and no one seems to be doing anything to push this forward.
Do we have a schedule of when this area will be clear? @metaltechs @directors
It’s basically the snug now… Joe promised me the snug would be done by the end of the month! But I don’t know the current status… @joeatkin2 ??
As long as it is gone by the end of the month that’s fine!
